Celebrating International Women's Day: The Rise of Women in Tech

The last 30 years have been a golden age for digital technology. It’s changed the way we work, how we communicate and the speed of our learning.

But despite three decades of growth, we are still seeing a pronounced gender gap in tech.

Tech's Unfinished Business

As of 2023, women still only account for around 26% of people working in tech related jobs.

Whilst this is an improvement from the figure of 19% in 2019, much more work needs to be done to get to a place of gender balance.

So, why, even with our advances in bias awareness and gender equality in the workplace, do women still represent a small fraction of the technology workforce?

There have, of course, been some positive developments in recent years, and we are seeing increasing numbers of tech companies taking steps to address the gender gap.

But there is still work to be done.
