I2C -Inter Integrated Circuit

A protocol intended to allow multiple "slave" digital integrated circuits ("chips") to communicate with one or more "master" chips.

I2C (pronounced i-squared-c) is widely used for attaching lower-speed peripheral ICs to processors and microcontrollers in short-distance, intra-board communication.

The I2C bus was designed to allow easy communication between components which reside on the same circuit board. It is only intended for short distance communications within a single device.
